I have always been a library lover , user and supporter. At the age of five I was taken to our local library and joined up for the junior section. Of course in those days it was all very serious, quiet and the books were fairly plain looking. I loved to read and mum knew she could always find me with my nose in a book particularly at bed time or dishes time. I decided to become a librarian from the time I went to Intermediate school and discovered more about libraries. Recently I retired after a career spanning nearly 40 years. There were breaks for various reasons but either through volunteers work or salaried I retained my library work. So of course it is as difficult for me to walk past a library ( or bookshop) as it is for gardeners to walk past a garden shop. Here are a few of the Libraries I saw during my Australian holiday.
